BIS ER-01 refers to the Essential Requirements for Security of CCTV Cameras introduced under India's regulatory framework for connected surveillance products. The requirements address critical aspects of CCTV security, including protection against unauthorised access, secure hardware and software, firmware and security updates, protection of data, secure communication, vulnerability testing, and secure development practices. ER-01 certification provides an independent assessment against defined security requirements and represents an important step towards creating a more secure surveillance ecosystem in India.
